No Government Pork Statement

I am very angry about what is going on in government lately. One of the things I am very angry about is the perception some of our elected officials have, that the purpose of government is to redistribute wealth. In writing about my disappointment about what is going on to my congressmen, they sent me letters back letting me know what a good job they are doing by bringing back money for this project and that. So, it seems like they think I should be happy about that, but it's example of politicians using other people's money to buy votes. Its corrupt and I've had enough!

Since it's tax time and I'm filling out my forms, I see also how government is also using its power of the purse to manipulate people's behavior on the tax code. "Credits" for certain behaviors, taxes on others.

Well, I've had enough of government thinking it should dictate my life, and with government corruption in manipulating people with money. People have the perception that they are getting free money from government, and this is wrong. As citizens, we need to stop allowing government to manipulate us this way. Look at the farce of AIG and GM. However, are we any better? Do we take money from the government when it hands it to us, either in the form of housing or student loan credits, or grants, or stimulus checks, or unemployment, or welfare? How do we untangle ourselves from this manipulation?

To this end, I also need to consistent with my behavior as well. As such, this year I am no longer going to take the EIC, even though I am eligible.

We as citizens need to get off the government teat. We need to do this before the government that can't manage social security, and can't manage a budget, tries to "give" us health care, "green" cars, and dictates how much money we can make before we make "too much". If you agree, take action and let your congressmen know that you also "Say NO! to Government Pork".
